Services Utility: Gateway Services for Netware Service Display Name (?): | Gateway Services for Netware | Short Name (?): | ? | Executable (?): | ? | Library (?): | ? | Depends On (?): | ? | Supports (?): | None. | Description (?): | None. | OS (?): | Third party or non-default | Startup (?): | Default | Home | Workstation | Server | Minimal | Tweaked | Automatic | Automatic | Disabled | Disabled | Automatic | Disabled | Disabled | Disabled | | Explanation (?): | The gateway services for netware service is a Microsoft, not a Novell, service that allows a Windows server to act as a proxy to a Novell server. This allows Windows clients that are connected to the NT server to interface with a Netware server, without the clients having to use the Netware client. This allows for simplification on your network by reducing the number of client packages your domain requires, making your network appear homogeneous. You can safely disable this service if you do not wish your server to connect to a Netware server. However, I highly recommend uninstalling this feature through add/remove components rather than just disabling it if you are not using it. |
